Wired or wireless earbuds: which to buy

Wireless earbuds win on convenience and lose on two things: they run out, and they lag. For music the lag does not matter. For video and games it does.

Wired sets have no battery to age. Two years in, a cheap wired pair sounds the same as it did on day one, which is not true of any wireless pair.

If your phone still has a headphone socket, buy both. The wired pair will outlive the other.
